Celebrating the art of baking bread, sponsored by Tiptree
Think your bread-making skills could give others a run for their money? There is still time to take the plunge and enter The World Bread Awards that reflect the nation’s growing obsession with all things baked while putting UK bread-makers to the test.
THE WORLD BREAD AWARDS
Setting out to celebrate bread-making at its most diverse and inspiring, while encouraging a new generation of bread makers, The World Bread Awards (sponsored by Tiptree) are open to all bakers – artisan bread makers, small high street bakers, home bread-makers and child bakers – so that whether you’re a professional or an amateur, young or old, you can find out once and for all whether your baking really is the best....
CATEGORIES & JUDGES
The awards are divided into sixteen categories covering everything from Sour Dough and Ciabatta to Gluten-free bread and baguettes. The public can vote online for their favourite bakery in the People's Choice award. Judges for 2015 include Luis Troyano, Great British Bake-off Finalist 2014, Charles Campion, Food Critic, Masterchef, George Fuller and Mike Holling of the Craft Bakers Association, Andrew Whitley, founder of The Village Bakery and Chairman of the Real Bread Campaign, amongst others.
ENTER THE AWARDS
Does your loaf leave others in its wake? It’s time to test those skills. To enter, register online now. Entry costs £15 a loaf for professional bakers, £10 a loaf for home bakers and is free for children.
The awards close to entries on 31st August 2015 and the judging will take place in September. The winners will be announced in October at a harvest supper-style ceremony at St John’s Hyde Park, London.
