We mentioned it, well quite a while ago now and we're calling attention to iZettle again because it's really rather brilliant. The mobile payment system that is making the traditional card reader (complete with eighteen month contract and fees on top) all but obsolete. For two months, we dabbled with the Zettle, testing it on recording and categorising payments (it even exports your entire payment history to Excel) and it really measures up.

Where the company needs to focus, however, is in their relationship with banks, given the company is based in Sweden and payments are collected there before being transferred to the user's country of choice, this can result in fraud warnings from the customer's bank. This doesn't happen all the time but when it does, it can cause undue concern. Having said that, the freedom that iZettle offers the small business owner; the ability to simply download the app and see the cash rolling in (with minor percentages taken; the lower the percentage the more you make) - really is life changing. If the company can iron out the quirks as referenced above, then their mission statement - to disruptively innovate, will continue to cause serious concern to companies offering traditional card readers at comparatively exorbitant prices.
