Worth a look.
Set up by John Bird, founder of The Big Issue, ABCtales encourages writers to submit stories for publication at the site which currently hosts well over 7,000 stories and poems, ranging from 50 to 2000 words. The handy cherry-picked symbol alerts readers to the pick of the crop but you’ll need to register to read anything rated PG. Writers who want to submit their work need to register and can choose the level of privacy they want as well as whether they want readers to rate their work. There’s a lively discussion board and the site’s homepage changes daily. A well-organised set of links leads to many sites for both writers and readers. Check out Freebies for writing competitions plus links to other competition sites.
