Mojo

Launched in 1993, the rock magazine Mojo sells itself on an avoidance of soundbite culture in favour of detailed, insightful features on musicians who matter. As they say here, it boasts 'the sensibilities of a fanzine and the design values of Vogue'. The website's pretty good, too, as you'd expect from a company like Emap. Set in a sturdy wood-style finish, the homepage highlights new releases and key upcoming releases, also offering an excellent selection of reviews and features and a searchable archive.

Mojo comes into its own, though, in the Enlightenment section. This section is pitched as a pool of rock knowledge designed for the betterment of humanity. Ask the questions you've been burning to pitch to an expert, and feel safe in the knowledge that, for Mojo, music matters.
