Indie Movies Online
INDIE MOVIES ONLINE HAS SUSPENDED OPERATION.
Indiemoviesonline.com offers reviews, features and free films.
HOW IT WORKS
This is a cultural Valhalla for cinephiles. Films for free and all above board. What's more, you don't even have to sign up to watch them. Just log on, search for a full-length feature, a short or a documentary and click on the play icon. The site has links to the BFI and offers treasures picked from their archive. There's no limit to the number of films you can watch. And if you register for an account you can leave comments on stories and join in with all the forum warbling. You'll also receive updates about new movies. The site funds itself by advertising so don't be surprised to see a film begin with a 30 second burst selling something or other. But that's a small price to pay to get free access to a superb variety films.
WHAT YOU CAN WATCH
As the name suggests, indiemoviesonline.com is not the place to come to catch the latest Michael Bay masterwork. But it's absolutely where you should be if you have any interest in independent cinema. There are real gems here, from Fernando Leon de Aranoa's Mondays in the Sun (2002) to George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead (1968). And you must watch a pre-Doctor Who David Tennant in a 2004 short called Traffic Warden. But don't forget to read the reviews and features as well. The writing is entertaining and engaged. This is an excellent site, with a clear passion for film. Now where's that popcorn got to?
