What's on When?

If your social life bears any resemblance to the homepage for this superb site, you need to slow down. What's On When is an immensely packed site devoted to what's going on around the world, all year round. An immensely useful, jam-packed site for the international pursuit of culture, entertainment and plain old fun. You'd be hard-pushed to find another website which can touch this one for global gallavanting. Music, for example, took us to options ranging from The Rolling Stones in the US to the Reykjavik Jazz Festival. What's more, the packed list of themes on the homepage doesn't stop at theatre, films, and live music, it ranges from Adventure, Bizarre, Classical Music, and Clubs & Parties to Spectacle, Gay & Lesbian, Heritage, Visual Arts and Mind, Body, Spirit.



Speed and navigation are both in good order. Choose from any of the options running down the left-hand or the middle homepage to be whisked off to another busy and entertaining section. You'll find City Guide and Continent pages easily by clicking on the options in the search bar on the right hand side of the page. Once you're in a city's page, you can browse their events by month, interest, or location.


Globetrotter is a nifty way to plan that one-year, round-the-world tour you've always had in mind. It's a map of the world that plans your diary for the new year's day, starting with Kiribati Dawn on 1 January and rounding off with New Year's Eve in Copacabana. Check it out, you globetrotter you.


World Map in the top right hand side of the page is an excellent feature. Click on, say, Africa and you'll be taken to information on what's happening there over the next month, links to Other Africa Pages, an option to browse the best events by month, and events divided into particular interest and location.


Members Log On Registering is a way of tailoring the site to your own needs. Choose a username and password, click or unclick the boxes that don't interest you, and, whenever you log on, you'll only see your topics of choice. And if you want to change them, just click on 'my whatsonwhen settings' from the top of the page and do what you're told to do. You'll find Members Log On in the bottom left hand corner of the homepage.


Search events Simple pull-down menu malarkey. Choose your theme, your country, your date range, and lots of options are sure to come up, either making your holiday easier or deciding when you should take it for you.
