IMDB tends to dominate conversations about film websites, but our Blog of the Month for January offers more than snark and answers to quiz questions. /Film (or Slash Film) has news and reviews, trailers, the latest rumours and information on films in production. It covers festivals like Sundance and can count directors like Darren Aronofksy among its readers.

Set up by Peter Sciretta in 2005 /Film has become one of the most varied, insightful, provocative and amusing film sites around. David Chen, Devindra Hardawar, and Adam Quigley do the /Filmcast podcast and cover TV and new media as well as films. The site has also managed to attract celebrity bloggers, like Clerks director Kevin Smith and Brick director Rian Johnson. Fans of the peerless Groundhog Day should take a look at Stephen Tobolowsky's contributions to the blog. Tobolowsky played Ned Ryerson in the film and shares his stories from the film industry in a series of podcats called The Tobolowsky Files.

/Film is produced by people with a demonstrable love of film. For those who count themselves among that tribe, this is a very online heaven.
