We’re big fans of Sushi Shop and its restaurant quality sushi. The brand continually pushes the boundaries of culinary excellence and its collaborations are ones to watch. Its latest with Catalan chef, Albert Adrià has got Team GWG very excited. Fortunate enough to attend a press day in Paris last November, we’ve sampled the sushi box and it’s outstanding.

Sushi Shop x Albert Adrià

Talking about the collaboration, Albert Adrià said Sushi Shop were a delight to work with, taking on board new ideas, all of which is evidence in his creations. The resulting box is a marriage of minute detail, borne in part from Albert's background in pastry, where you can expect delicious flavour combinations and fine ingredients. This is food worthy of covers on luxury magazines but you can eat this in your own home. What's not to love about that? And it's every bit as delicious as it looks.

Albert said, "I am a huge admirer of Japanese cuisine and I always try to preserve its essence and identity. I love how precise and classic it is and this inspired us to create these recipes with the fabulous Sushi Shop team. The tastes are both simple and pure, without being too fussy or overcomplicated. Temaki LIke Tapas

Ever imagined that sushi could go tapas? In the eyes of Albert Adrià it can and here it is perfectly executed for you to try at home, Temaki Like Tapas. This is DIY sushi on another level. Albert said, "I couldn't resist the idea of playing at creating my own temaki. For this creation, a little in the spirit of tapas, I imagined several components, a Japanese style guacamole, a tartare of spicy tuna, a melange of vegetables and crunchy pickles, a confit of shiitake mushrooms, that everyone can combine as they wish with vinegared rice and crispy nori sheets." Once prepared, this dish is equivalent to about fifteen pieces of sushi and costs £17.50.
