Best Skiing Apps

For all things winter sports, these apps will not let you down.

We do love a good skiing app here at The GWG, so here are some recent favourites.

iTrailMap
www.bigairsoftware.com

This free gem allows you to download high-res piste maps and access them even without cellular signal. It's simple and certainly doesn't reinvent the wheel but what it does...

Skiresort.info
www.skiresort.info

Skiresort.info holds comprehensive information on almost 5000 ski resorts the world over. You'll find details on passes, slopes and lifts, and there's even webcams and livestreams from selected locations. The app can also help you find accommodation - as well as filling you in on snow depths, weather reports, trail maps, and skiing conditions.

Freeskier
www.freeskier.com

This app is great to turn to when you're shopping for your impending trip as it's filled with hundreds of gear reviews. There's also snow reports, a news feed that's updated frequently, and last but not least, a plethora of (almost
extreme) skiing videos.

The Everywhere Cam
www.itunes.com

How incredible is this app? It gives you a 360 view of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, which takes you - quite literally - to the heart of the action. Change the angle by moving your device, and then shift focus by simply swiping the screen. Did we mention it's free?
