Ochre & Ocre Ltd has put together a very nice looking site, with a tailored, focused collection of organic and ecologically produced homeware, coloured in varying degrees and tones of ochre.
SPECIAL OFFER
GWG visitors receive 15% discount, quoting code GOODWEB and there is FREE UK delivery on orders over £30. This offer is valid until 31st August 2010.
WELL LAID OUT
Search easily for linen tablecloths, napkins, runners and placemats in the Dining section; aprons, tea-towels, oven gloves, shopping bags and more in the Cooking section; and candles, lavender bags and gift wraps in the Gifting section – each of which are listed on the left-hand side of the homepage, or highlighted via certain products on the right. Excellent photography shows off each product to its best possible advantage and demonstrates the broad range of warming, autumnal ochre shades and chic, understated designs.
EXCELLENT DESCRIPTIONS
Along the top of the homepage, you can click through to some excellent descriptions, which tell you in detail all about the process behind Organic Cotton and Organic Linen and why these are better than the alternatives. It also explains what Oeko-tex is (an international testing & certification system for textiles) in great depth. Meanwhile, there is a whole passage telling you all about ochre: where it comes from, how different shades are produced, its benefits and history (man has been using ochres for centuries); who uses it across the world and how and where the word ‘ochre' comes from.
ECOLOGIGALLY & ETHICALLY SOUND
Company owners, Tess and Fiona are clearly passionate about their subject and their website reflects this, answering a growing eco-conscious demand from consumers to know what they are buying and where it is coming from. At Ochre & Ocre, all products are made in Europe, helping to reduce its carbon footprint, lower transport costs (equating to a better value product line) and ensure excellent working conditions are maintained throughout its factories.
